Notes for FIG waves

1. The far infra gravity (FIG) wave signal is derived from the tide gauge signal by an involved process described here.
2. The resulting long wave record is shown in the upper plot.
3. The lower plot is a contour plot showing how the significant wave height is distrbuted with time (x-axis) and period (y-axis). The methodology is described here.
